Salon manager and owner of Soul Hair. Vitina has amassed over 30 years in the industry and is as passionate and devoted as when she first started out. She quickly progressed to a managerial post at the age of 21 and then went on to train and educate, developing a training school in one of Cheshire’s largest group of salons before taking up the post of International Academies manager in Saks London.

She believes the key to a successful salon is education and training. In addition to being an expert in the craft, Vitina believes customer service and treating people as individuals are equally important.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A HAIRDRESSER?
I have been hairdressing or working in hairdressing-related positions in the industry for a lot more years than I care to remember. I started as a Saturday girl when I was about 14 years of age.

WHY DID YOU WANT TO BECOME A HAIRDRESSER?
I don’t know what it was or when I realised I wanted to work in the industry I just always thought I was a hairdresser and when I had to visit the Careers advisor at school they asked me what I would like to do. My response was “I am a hairdresser”

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE HAIRDO OF ALL TIME?
My favourite Hairdo of all time is the classic Bob. I love the precision and technicality of the cutting…

WHO IS YOUR CELEBRITY HAIR ICON
As the Classic Bob is my favourite hair, it has to be Vidal Sassoon. More recently I admire the work of Angelo Seminara he is so creative in the way he translates his ideas into hair.
